Rimfire Jacket 224 Bullet-Making Kits

The .22 Long Rifle case makes an excellent thin-wall (varmint, target shooting) jacket for 50-60 grain 224 (5.56mm) bullets. The swage dies can also be used with commercial jackets by using a smaller diameter core seating punch (to fit into the thicker walled J-22-705 or -800 length jackets. Dies are available for Corbin -S press and Corbin Mega Mite CSP-2 and Corbin Hyddro Press CHP-1.

NOTE: We are temporarily stopping production of the -R type die sets other than jacket makers and draw dies, and the Pro-Swage dies, due to the overwhelming volume of sales for the -S and -H type dies to fit Corbin presses. We simply do not have enough time and people to continue making the -R type swage dies until and unless there is either a surge of available die-makers who actually have the ability and desire to work as well as our crew has for the past 45 years, or until the demand for our presses and dies to fit them slows down to to something closer to normal again.

It's a hard decision but there just are not enough hours in the day to make all the products in all the calibers and styles we have for the past 45 years with the shortages of people and materials in the world economy, and demand being so high for our products. We already run as much as a year behind sometimes. Not much point pushing it to two or three years when we could concentrate on the items that are in greatest demand instead.

We still are making punches and draw dies, and providing support and parts for -R type dies, but not taking any new orders for 224 and 243 kits or individual swage dies. Bullet and jacket reducing dies are still being made as they are idential to the -S type other than the base punch being made to fit a T-slot ram instead of a threaded Corbin press ram. At some future point we will probably be able to make -R type swage dies again, but we don't know when that will be. Depends on demand, availability of skilled diemakers, and supply of materials.
