The RBT-2-S is a set of two dies, and a punch for an existing point forming die, which is added to your flat base die set in order to make rebated boattail base bullets. This set of dies does not make a finished bullet. It is used with an existing flat base die set. The core seating die (CS-1-S) is NOT used, and instead, the lead core is swaged into the jacket in the first boattail die (BT-1), which applies an angle to a normal straight jacket's base. Then the same jacket and core are put into the second boattail die (BT-2) and the core is pressurized again. This expands the angled base to form a rebated gas seal edge. The jacket and core are then put into the existing point form die, using the special RBT punch provided with this kit to press against the base. This maintains the shape of the RBT base, and further refines the edge or rebate. All Corbin die sets are made of groups of individual dies put together in various sets. The basic jacketed bullet die set is the FJFB-3-S, which consists of a core swage (CSW-1), a core seater (CS-1) and a point former (PF-1). The core swage forms a precise shape and weight of lead core and has extrusion holes to allow surplus lead to be bled off and sheared from the core. The core seater is used to put this core into a jacket, and apply pressure to expand the jacket using the hydraulic force of highly pressurized lead. The point forming shapes the nose or ogive on the bullet. Adding a RBT-2 die set to the FJFB-3 set makes the same thing as a FRBO-5-S set. This means Flat, Rebated Boattail, Open tip 5-die set. The set makes both flat and RBT bases with open tips. Only three dies are used for flat base, and only four are used for rebated boattail. The core seat die is never used for making rebated boattail bullets.
