HCT-3W lead bullet grooving wheel applies two .08-wide serrated grooves at once to soft lead bullets, for lubrication and crimping. The wheel can be purchased separately from the tool, both for replacement and for use on the HCT-1 jacketed bullet cannelure tool in place of the standard HCT-1W wheel. To change the cannelure or grooving wheel, loosen the set screw in the wheel, and the set screw in the sideplay adjustment collar on the same shaft as the wheel. Then, using a snap ring tool, remove the C-shaped snap ring retainer clip from the right inside groove on the crank shaft. This will allow the crank shaft to be pulled toward the left (or the side where the crank handle is found), while turning and pushing the collar and the wheel to the right. The wheel will come off before the crank shaft has been removed from the left bearing. Then slip the new wheel onto the shaft, and put the shaft back into the right bearing. Align the groove with the edge of the bearing, so the C-clip retainer snap ring can be pushed back into place. Then turn the crank so that the set screw on the wheel is aligned with the flat machined on the shaft, and secure the set screw. Finally, adjust the sideplay collar so that the crank turns freely with minimal sideplay and secure the set screw in the collar.
