This is a box of 1,300 J-30-115 jackets, which are 1.15 inches long and .3065 inch diameter. They have a mildly tapered jacket wall. The weight is 42.7 grains. The bottom of the jacket accepts a .264 diameter core but the better size for over-all use is .250 inch diameter. The OD is .3065 inches, making the base wall thickness 0.021 inches. This tapers to 0.014 inches at the mouth. The core diameter for these jackets is .250 inches, and the standard core seating punch diameter is 0.2775 inches. This is a very snug fit as required to maintain a good pressure seal as the jacket expands. Often a new bullet maker will try the punch by hand and believe it is "too big", but it needs to be snug in order to maintain the pressure seal as the jacket enlarges to proper size.
