The Saw Spring is a heavy coil spring that returns moving saw table to the upright position. This is a good spare part to keep on hand if the saw is used heavily. If you are an engineering-minded person, you can also add a counterweight on a steel rod, say 1/4-inch or 5/16 diameter, threaded or welded to a small plate that is in turn bolted to the tilt table plate, and put a heavy counterweight with a thumb screw to hold it at a set length on this rod. Then move the weight to get the desired amount of "lift" for the tilt table, and you will not require a spring. (We don't make it because it makes the saw harder to ship with the long part and adds shipping weight, and the spring works OK for a lot less over-all cost -- but this is just an idea we kicked around, which might be of interest to you.)
