The ram extender is part of the RLA-H reloading adapter kit. It comes with the CSP-2 and CHP-1 press, and is used to convert the 1 inch x 12 threaded ram to 7/8-14 thread, which is used by both the SH-50 shell holder for 50 BMG, and by the RLA-A shell holder adapter for standard RCBS type button shell holders. The RLA-H has an angled port that allows spent primers to drop through a shell holder and fall through the adapter onto the top of the ram guide. A polyethylene tube of 1/2 to 3/4 inch diameter can be used to guide the spent primers into a container on the floor. Simply split the end for about two inches and punch a hole through the end in both parts, then wrap the split ends around the extender so the tube is positioned over the angled port hole. Secure the tube with a nut, screw, and two washers through the hole punched in the split ends of hte tube.
