Punch-SX is a cruciform (cross-shaped) punch that puts a deep X-cut into a lead core (for core swage dies) or into the core after it has been fit into the jacket (for core seat dies or the rebated boattail dies). The purpose is to promote rapid expansion, especially with lower velocity loads. The important information needed to make the punch is the diameter of the punch (or the ID of the core swage die or jacket).
