The PUNCH-HL adjustable type -S punch for 1/2 inch tubing is built internally with special hardened components to withstand the pressure on the movable parts. Because of the standard outside dimensions to fit the punch holders of CSP-1 presses, the internal components must be designed for insertion from both ends rather than a single threaded component as with smaller diameter punches. This punch is primarily used for the JM-1-S jacket maker die of the CTJM-1-S die set with 1/2 inch tubing. Since the type -S dies are limited to .458 or smaller caliber bullets, none of the other dies normally requires the use of this kind of punch construction. They can use the PUNCH-SA instead.
