The adjustable punch can be made in two types, internal and external. The external punch is most often used for tubing jacket maker end-rounding (for different length jackets), and for core seating punches used with tubing jackets or rebated boattail bullets (adjustable shoulder prevents the jacket from extruding forward). The internal adjustable punch can be used to seal the end of a point form die with exact honed fit and length, so that lead bullets can be formed with extrusion holes in the die to allow one-stroke weight adjustment and ogive completion. It can also be used in certain other dies to adjust for the length of components.
