PCS-2D Magnum Core Cutter die inserts come in pairs
of the same size and height. They fit the PCS-2 Magnum
Core Cutter (one comes with the tool, others are optional).
The dies fit into the top and bottom bars of the tool. To
remove a die, loosen the set screw holding it in the bar.
Then, if the die will not come out by finger pressure,
open the tool so you can place an old cartridge or a piece
of brass rod or tubing on the die, and tap it with a hammer
to drive the die out of the tool frame.
To install a new die, open the tool just slightly, so that
the die cannot slip past one bar into the hole in the next
bar. Align the die, make sure that the set screw is out
of the way, and press the die in with your fingers. If the
die fits too snugly to press in by hand, use an old
cartridge case (unprimed!) and a mallet or small hammer
to tap the die into place. Usually the dies will go in
and out by mild finger pressure.
