PCS-1D core cutter die inserts come in sets of two,
with the taller die going on top and the shorter one in
the lower, moving lever. Available to cut lead wire from
.100 to .365 inch diameter, the dies are pressed finger
tight into the holes in the cutter bars with the cutter
slightly opened, to prevent a die from going past the
edge of its bar and locking up the tool.
A set screw in the side of each bar holds the die in place.
For faster operation, one may use a larger die in the
bottom or moving lever. This causes a slight decrease in
the accuracy of the core weight, but if the cores are to
be swaged next, there is no practical disadvantage.
Note that one set of dies in your choice of diameter comes
with the cutter. If you do not specify a size, we ship
the most popular size (.185).
