LW-10 lead wire for making bullets and cores is pure
lead, precision drawn to a diameter that fits into your
swage die for a given caliber. The wire is wound on a
large core polymer spool, and packaged in a sturdy corrugated carton
to protect it in transit.
Note: If you select "Add to Basket" without first choosing a size, a page will be displayed showning the sizes and will not let you continue until you have selected one of them. This prevents placing an order where we can just guess what size you had in mind or send whatever feels good at the moment! Actually it eliminates the need to call, email, or write to get the information.
Lead wire is available in standard sizes from .125 to .430
diameter, as well as in special .100 diameter for tiny
sub-calibers such as .12 and .14 (the .100 is listed
separately, as it is more difficult to draw and coil
without stretching).
Lead wire is conveniently cut to length for different weight
bullets with one of Corbin's core cutters. The PCS-1 is
used for diameters from .100 to .365 (up to .458 caliber
jacketed bullets or .375 caliber lead bullets). The PCS-2
Magnum Core Cutter is used for diameters up to .430 (smaller
dies are available to cover the same range as the PCS-1).
Lead wire can be purchased in cartons of four spools of
the same diameter (40-lb carton) at a 10% discount. Mixed
sizes in the same box do not qualify for discount, as the
cartons must be opened, repackaged, and resealed in that
case, negating the savings of buying directly from
inventory. If possible, purchase in multiples of four
rolls of the same size: see LW-40, which is a carton of
four same size rolls, priced to reflect the 10% discount.
