LT-1-R lead tip forming die is used after a PF-1-R to reshape and define the exposed lead tip. To use it properly, a reasonable amount of lead must remain exposed beyond the jacket after the ogive has been formed. This extended lead will be somewhat deformed by the ejection pin, and then reshaped correctly by light pressure in the LT-1-R die. You can change the shape of the tip by using different internal punches, but only the very tip, not the ogive curve itself. The LT-1-R die is never used by itself, without first forming the ogive in a PF-1-R die. Please note that the standard .224 and .243 caliber die has a 6-S ogive punch. If you want any other special shape, a hardened tip closing punch, or custom work, use the additional notes and specs. Otherwise, just leave the options set for "standard".
