JRD-1-S jacket reducing die is used to draw a
jacket down to a smaller diameter. The jacket length also
increases. Jacket wall thickess remains approximately the
same with this die. A .224 jacket can be drawn to .204 or
to .172. A 6mm jacket or a .257 jacket can be drawn to
make a longer .224. A .308 jacket can be made into a 7mm
or .277 or .264 jacket. For greater precision in drawing
jackets or to make the jacket walls thinner, use the JRD-2-S
commercial draw die.
How to Specify
- 1. Starting size: Enter caliber or actual diameter if known.
- 2. Ending size: Enter desired caliber (down to 0.7 times starting size)
- 3. Wall thickness: Enter catalog number for Corbin jacket, or max. wall thickness for your jacket
The die body fits the 7/8-14 threaded press head of either
a reloading press or the S-Press. The punch fits into the
5/8-24 threaded ram. By changing the punch, the same die
can also be used in a reloading press. An adapter kit is
available to use type -S draw dies in -H type presses such
as the CSP-2 and the Hydro-Press.
