JRD-1-R jacket reducing die is used to draw down
a bullet jacket to a smaller diameter. In most cases, the
jacket can be reduce one or two calibers in one pass.
A good example would be making a .9 inch long .224 jacket
for 90 grain bullets, using a .780-inch long .257 jacket.
Another example would be reducing a .308 jacket to .284 or
.277. The jacket wall thickness before and after drawing
will determine the dimensions of the drawing punch. Sample
jackets are therefore very useful in designing a smooth-
functioning die for you. Six sample jackets is normally
enough to develop a draw die. (If Corbin jackets are to
be used, then no samples are required).
How to Specify
- Starting Size: Enter either jacket caliber or diameter (if known).
- Ending Size: Enter desired caliber (down to 0.7 times starting size)
- Wall thickness: Enter jacket catalog number (Corbin) or your jacket max. wall thickness.
