JRD-1-H jacket reducing die is used to bring down
the diameter of a bullet jacket. Reductions of as much as
50% can often be achieved, depending on the jacket material
and thickness.
The standard jacket maker is used for simple reductions
which do not thin the jacket walls or attempt to change
the taper or wall geometry. The commercial JRD-2-H set
is designed for higher precision alignment, and uses
special tougher alloy punches that can handle the stress
of both reduction and wall thickness modification. The
JRD-1-H punch uses a base that screws directly into the
1-inch x 12 tpi press ram. The JRD-2-H punch fits an
adapter base with 5/8-24 threads, and can be used in a
type -S press if its length permits, without the adapter.
How to Specify
- 1. Starting size: Enter caliber or diameter if known.
- 2. Ending size: Enter desired caliber (down to 0.7 times starting size)
- 3. Wall thickness: Enter Corbin jacket cat.no., or max. wall thickness of your jacket.
