This is a slightly shorter 38 or 9mm jacket, suitable for semi-wadcutter styles in the so-called "3/4-jacket" mode. It also makes short, light bullets for the .380 ACP. Supplied in bags of 500. Jacket length is 0.380 inches. This is not as short as a gas check, but it is a good replacement for the old "half jacket" used in 1950-1970 era C-H, Herter, and other early or discontinued style single-die semi-wadcutter style swages. It is a little longer than the early half-jackets but short enough so that the limited stroke proprietary presses, such as the "Herter 9-Ton", can be used without running the jacket into the nose forming punch. It covers enough of the typical weight SWC bullet shank to be considered a 3/4-jacket style, stopping just short of the shoulder (and beginning of the nose). The proper size of lead wire or core mold for this jacket is the 0.312 diameter, which works well in a .318 core swage, which in turn fits the jacket ID nicely.
