FPH-2-H Positive Stop Punch Holder is used for extremely tight control over bullet weight in the CHP-1 and the CSP-2H hydraulic presses. The hardened punch holder body is designed to adsorb the full force of the press, so the punch holder can be used as an absolute stopping point at the top of the stroke. The pressure reversing feature on the CHP-1 can be used to send the ram down again, and the dwell time control used to hold the pressure for a set time. The amount of insertion distance into the die is controlled by a stop screw in the top of the punch holder. The die is run up against the face of the punch to establish a positive position for the end of the stroke, and the top screw is adjusted to set the distance which the punch can remain in the die. The punch aligns with the die and moves up freely until the punch head comes up against the end of the hardened stop screw. The screw or threaded rod is removed from the top of the punch holder in order to remove and replace the punch. A magnet in the face of the rod helps lift the punch out of the punch holder body. A copper tube around the magnet increases the magnetic flux at the end of the threaded rod (all that is visible is the end of both the copper tube and the magnet).
