DIE BLANK type -H. This is a type -H die blank for making bullet swage dies to fit the CSP-2 Mega Mite press or the CHP-1 Hydro Press. Details: Diameter 1.5-inches Shank length 1-inch Shank diameter 1-inch Shank thread 1.0 x 12 TPI Overall Length: Available in standard 2.5 and 3.0 inches, or custom. The 1.5-inch diameter portion is diamond knurled Ends are machined flat (no cut-off nub) Edges are lightly chamfered Material O-6 Tool Steel Annealed The standard length for nearly all small to medium calibers and all short bullets (handgun or rifle) is the 2.5-inch OAL blank. Bullets longer than about 1.5 inches typically are swaged using the 3-inch die. The cavity should be kept within the full 1.5-inch diametger portion, with only the ejection pin residing in the threaded tenon section. Allowance for full support of the original diameter jacket must be made before engaging the ogive section of the cavity. Custom length dies are sometimes required for long, large bullets such as the 50 BMG. A 3-1/4 inch die is typically as long as can be used in the CSP-2 press and still allow room for insertion and removal of the bullet without first removing the top or external punch.
