This is a steel sleeve which slips over the ram of the CSP-1 press, and prevents lead extrusions and other debris from dropping into the ram slot. The sleeve sits on the press base, while the ram moves freely up and down through it. Lead wire bits which are extruded from a core swage die or from a lead semi-wadcutter die can drop down to the press base and roll into the slot on the side of the ram, when the ram is up. With the sleeve in place, the bits are blocked. This is a handy option to use with long runs of LSWC bullets or core swaging. The ram guard sleeve is not used when the press is in the reloading mode. Instead, spent primers are caught in the CSP-1T primer catcher tray.
