The "head plate" or "top plate" is a steel rectangle mounted
at the top of the press support rods, with a threaded hole
for the punch holder (or reloading die or adapter bushing).
The standard CHP-1 press, and CSP-2 Mega Mite hand press,
have a 1-1/2 inch x 12 turns/inch thread.
Dimensions
- Thickness: 1-inch
- Width (front to back): 3 inches
- Length (side to side): 6 inches
- Mounting hole spacing (for support rod) center to center: 4 inches
Smaller threaded dies and tooling can be used by getting one
of the many adapter bushings available. A 7/8-14 adapter
comes with the press, to use standard reloading dies. But
you can get 1-1/4 x 12, 1-in x 12 or 1-in x 14, and other
bushings from Corbin.
Larger threads, or even the same size hole with a different
thread, can be handled by removing the standard head plate
and replacing it with a custom made head, having the
thread you need for a special application.
Usually, these special thread head plates are not in
stock (because there are so many possible sizes). We make
them to your custom order.

are ordering the standard 1-1/2 x 12 thread head plate.
This plate fits both the CHP-1 Hydro Press and the CSP-2
Mega Mite press.
