CBL-4 Corbin Bore Lap is the easy, safe way to lap
barrels, without heat or molten lead. The traditional way
is to pour a lead lap in the barrel, pull it part way out,
and load it with lapping abrasive. This can discolor a
finished barrel from the heat.
With Corbin Bore Lap, no heat is required. A tight fitting cloth
patch is used on a brass brush. The patch is saturated with
the oil-based lap compound. Move the cleaning rod two inches
forward, and pull it one inch back, until the rod finally
emerges from the bore.
Corbin Bore Lap smooths tool marks, removes heavy fouling,
and polishes the surface of the bore to help reduce future
fouling. One four ounce bottle is enough to lap at least
a dozen barrels.
