This is a carton of 6 cans, one pint (16-oz) each, of Corbin Bore Cleaner. In addition to removing leading and copper fouling from gun barrels, Corbin Bore Cleaner is effective in polishing chrome, shining brass, bronze and aluminum, and does a pretty good job of polishing silverware! Chromed bumpers and hubcaps on autos can be brought to a bright gleam by rubbing gently with bore cleaner on a cloth.

But one of the other advantages of Corbin Bore Cleaner compared to chemical solvent types is that it will remove fouling that is resistant to chemical reaction such as excess moly coating, polymer coatings, plastic fouling in shotgun bores, rust and corrosion. The flat crystals of synthetic sapphire align parallel to the stroking motion under pressure of a tight cloth patch, presenting their edges to things that project from the bore regardless of their composition. The flat sides slide along the bore while the microscopic flat crystals work under the projecting fouling, and pry it off.

Corbin Bore Cleaner drys to a fine white dust which can be wiped out with a pass of an oiled patch. This is recommended, but otherwise the bore cleaner can remain inside a barrel virtually forever without any reaction to the steel. It contains no ammonia or corrosive salts that attack stainless or carbon steel, or hard chrome plating. The inert oil based formula works by mechanical prying off of the projecting fouling, rather than dissolving it in a chemical reaction. You have to move it back and forth to do any good. But it does the job well when operated according to instructions: snug patch on a 1-caliber smaller brass brush, pushed 2 inches forward and pulled 1 inch back, until the patch emerges from the other end of the barrel. Then go the other way, protecting the action with a bit of rolled up cloth inside, so fouling and bore cleaner isn't pushed out into the mechanism if cleaning from the muzzle. Then run a patch with gun oil through the bore, and you are done!
