This is a set of hardened tool steel arbor press anvils for the CSP-2 Mega Mite press or the CHP-1 Hydro Press. Both have 1.5-inch flat hardened faces. One threads directly into the FPH-1-H Floating Punch Holder (in the press head). The other screws into the press ram, with 1-in x 12 pitch threads. The FPH-1-H punch holder is supplied with every -H type press. It normally uses a hex bushing to secure the external swage punch, which hangs down from the punch holder to push components into the mouth of the swage die (mounted in the ram, facing up). To use the APA-2-H anvil, first UNSCREW the hex bushing from the end of the punch holder. Set it aside. It is not used with the anvils. Then screw the anvil with the smaller thread into the punch holder. Screw it in firmly with your fingers only. It isn't necessary to use a wrench or pliers. Snug finger tight pressure is all you need. Screw the other anvil, with the larger threads, into the press ram. That's it. You can now adjust the punch holder up and down to fit the items you are going to use in the newly created "arbor press". Note: Another option is to get the CHP-S2H and the FPH-S2H adapters for the CSP-1a anvils. These smaller anvils fit directly into the ream of the CSP-1 S-press, and also into the 5/8-24 thread in the FPH-1-S floating punch holder. But by using a CHP-S2H ram adapter (also used to hold 5/8-24 threaded drawing punches) in the ram, and a special threaded FPH-S2H hex bushing for the FPH-2-H piunch holder, you can use the same smaller anvils in any of the presses. However, the larger anvils that fit directly into the larger press without adapters are more robust and provide a wider surface to apply the force.
