This punch adapts type -S point forming dies, as well as end rounding dies from the CTJM-1-S set, to operate in the "Walnut Hill" press. The diameter of ejecton pin wire must be specified to fit a particular die. The diameter of the wire is marked on the end of the die as a decimal fraction. Typical sizes are .061, .071, 081, .091, .105, etc. The correct pin matches this number on the die. Wire pins can be replaced with a set screw, so long as the pin is the same size as the original. Please note that tempered spring wire pins have a .0005 tolerance so that a .061 and a .062 designation actually refer to and work with a wire specified as either size (which may actually be a nominal .0615 inches). The punch fits inside the press ram, and is used in place of the punch extension or "slug" that normally drops into the ram as part of the WH-ADAPT S-die adapter. To use -S dies in the Walnut Hill press the WH-ADAPT adapter unit is required for all die types. Only the dies with a captivce ejector punch require the WH-EJECT. All external punches (top punches) for Corbin -S dies will work by using a Corbin FPH-1-S punch holder, in the press head.
