This is a 308 caliber core seating punch, to fit the CS-1-H or the BT-1-H core seater dies, for use with a Corbin J-30-125 or J-30-115 bullet jacket. The purpose is to make a 0.3-inch deep cavity to hold a 1/8-inch diameter carbide or steel penetrator rod. You can use a hardened 1/8-inch dowel pin, or a carbide electrode from a TIG welder, or a piece of tungsten rod. You can also fill the cavity with surplus copy machine or laser printer toner for marking steel targets! Just cap the end with one of Corbin's 1/8-inch polymer "Bullet Balls". Normally this punch would be the $149 custom punch. But we have some on hand left from a project. We will sell them at just 1/3 of the regular price. Warning: unless you have a military or law enforcement application and appropriate destructive device licensing, it would not be legal to manufacture and sell the hard steel or carbide rod insert bullets. But for personal use and for experiments with hollow points, other tip inserts, marker powders, etc., no problem. This punch makes a specific size hole in the lead core, and what you do with it is your business. When the inventory is gone, we will have to ask once again for the custom price, and delete this special offer page. If you think you may have a good use for this punch, it's better to get it now while we still have surplus parts available. (Making a large quantity at one time greatly reduces the individual price, compared to setting up just one job. All the setup and prep time is carried by the cost of one part, whereas in a large order that labor cost is divided by the number of parts being made. You know that, just explaining to the folks who are not familiar with manufacturing operations.)
