This is a set of two dies to make hollow ogive slugs in .2552 diameter.

It consists of two dies, the CSW-1-S hollow ogive preform die (which adjusts weight and makes a large hollow cavity) and the PF-1-SP point forming die (which rolls the walls of the big hollow cavity into the ogive or nose shape. The dies have cup base punches, but also a flat base punch and an internal PF punch for making NSA-type hollow point solid ogive bullets as well asa the FX Hollow Ogive type.

There are 2 more punches than are found in the standard 2-die set included FREE! But there is ONLY ONE set available on this special deal.

Hollow ogive slugs can be made in almost any weight by adjusting the position of the punch holder, at the top of the press, so more or less lead is extruded in step 1 with the core swage die. The point forming die is used without generating anything near the same pressure: it can almost form the slug with the weight of the handle alone. Only the walls around the cavity are rolled inward. No more lead is extruded.

The die screws into the press ram along with its internal (ejection) punch. The base punch goes into the top of the press. This is the "external" punch, which stays outside the die except when swaging. The internal punch slided iup and down inside the ram and stays in the die all the time. Be careful not to run the base punch into the point forming die so far that the edge of the punch is swaged! There is a line around the body or shank of the external punch indicating the limit of how far the punch should ever go into a point form die. If you never let this ring disappear into the die, the end of the punch will not be rolled over in the ogive of the die.

The proper size of lead wire to use is 0.247 diameter. But you could use lead wire up to about .250 diameter (Corbin has the .247). To make a complete kit add the CSP-1 S-press, lead wire LW-10, a PCS-1 core cutter with .247 inserts, and CSL-2 swage lube.
