This is a 1.775-inch long bullet jacket for 50 BMG (.510). It has jacket walls with mid-point thickness of .0415 inch thickness, with .032 inch thickness near the mouth. The jacket diameter, prior to seating the core and forming the ogive, is .508 inches. The jacket weighs 194.3 grains and is packaged 100 to a bag.

These jackets can also be drawn down to make calibers such as .475, .500, and .458, using the JRD-1-H jacket reducing die.

Each package has over 2-lbs, 13-ounces of copper in it! That's a lot of metal compared to most bullet jackets. A carton of 1000 jackets would weigh 28-1/8 pounds, which is why we package them in bags of 100 (45 ounces).

These heavy jackets are great for high velocity 50 BMG rounds, resisting deformation from the firing and flight stresses that might affect thinner jacketed bullets. However, swaging the bullets is best done using the Hydro Press or the long handle option on the CSP-2 Mega Mite press (CSP-2LH = long handle option).

You can order the CSP-2LH optional handle as an extra handle, or you can specify it when you order the press instead of the standard side-roller handle at no additional cost (the two handles are the same price, one being longer and heavier for more material cost, but the other having more components and machine work, so the production cost balances out either way.) You may also need the FPH-QC-H quick change punch holder to speed up inserting and removing the long bullets usually build with these jackets, regardless of the final caliber.
