This is the die insert for a LT-1-R lead tip finishing die, for the reloading press. It is sold for replacement purpose, as you also need the die holder body, the internal and the external punch, knock out rod and lock nut. This die does not make the ogive on a bullet (that is the job of the point former or PF-1-R die). It cleans up and points up the lead tip which is slightly flattened by ejection from a point form die. The die looks just like a core seat die, but is made with the bore slightly larger to easily accept the finished bullet and guide it into the internal punch cavity. The blind hole in the punch reshapes the lead tip.
